Max Verstappen called to stewards after Brazil qualifying
Max Verstappen has been called to the stewards for inspecting Lewis Hamilton’s car after qualifying in Brazil.
Hamilton and his Mercedes team were already under investigation for an issue with his rear wing.
Video emerged after the session of Verstappen physically inspecting the rear wing.
The stewards have summoned Verstappen for an "alleged breach of Article 2.5.1 of the FIA International Sporting Code".
That article states that "in the Parc Ferme, only the officials assigned may enter. No operation, checking, tuning or repair is allowed unless authorised by the same officials or by the applicable regulations.”
Both Verstappen and Mercedes will front the stewards on Saturday morning.
The saga means both championship contenders could face penalties for the São Paulo Grand Prix.
