Lewis Hamilton receives knighthood
Lewis Hamilton has received a knighthood for services to motorsport just days after losing the controversial title battle with Max Verstappen on the last lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hamilton was made a Knight Bachelor by Princes Charles at Windsor Castle.
The Briton has the record for most race wins and was on the precipice of beating Michael Schumacher's record of seven drivers' championships in the 2021 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton is the fourth F1 driver to receive a knighthood, and the only one to receive the award while still racing.
