Jordyn Sinni walks away with Formula Ford round victory in Sandown
Jordyn Sinni has won the first round of the Australian Formula Ford season in Sandown.
Sinni struck early with pole position and won the opener on Saturday, which was declared a non-event due to two safety cars burning up most of the limited running in the seven-lap race.
The second race on Sunday saw an intense battle at the front of the pack between Sinni and Matthew Hillyer, with Sinni claiming the chequered flag for win two of two in his rookie Formula Ford season.
Cody Donald took out the final podium position on the final lap after an intense battle with Xavier Kokai, James Piszcyk and Kye Cavedon throughout the race.
Hillyer started on pole for race three and took the early lead, but it was Cody Donald who was on a charge and passed Hillyer on lap 7.
Donald, Hillyer, and Sinni duked it out wheel-to-wheel for the final three laps with Donald regaining the lead on the last lap to claim the top stop of the podium ahead of Sinni and Clay Richards.
Sinni leaves the weekend in the lead of the National Formula Ford standings ahead of Donald and Kokai, with the championship returning at Phillip Island in three weeks time.
