Jack Doohan confirmed as Alpine F1 reserve driver

Launching their 2023 challenger at an event in London, the BWT Alpine F1 Team confirmed that the young Aussie will be understudy to French drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.
Alpine says their improvement in the World Constructors Championship, from fifth in 2021 to fourth in 2022, is proof of its upwards trajectory under the “100-race plan.”
“It’s always a feeling of immense pride when we officially unveil our car for the upcoming season,” said Laurent Rossi, Alpine CEO.
“Since Alpine joined the Formula 1 grid in 2021, I’ve been eager to see continued progress and tick off each season and each milestone as they come.”
“Ultimately, we at Alpine are driven by a natural desire to race and that is etched in the company’s heritage and will remain at the heart of our motorsport projects for many years to come.”
The team took to the track for the first time on Monday during a filming day at Silverstone.
The A523 will return to the track at the Formula 1 pre-season test in Bahrain before the Formula 1 season begins 3-5 March.
