Indy Lights rebrands as INDY NXT for 2023 season
Indy Lights will rebrand as INDY NXT as part of a raft of changes announced for the 2023 season.
The brand refresh is designed to reflect "a fresh, more youthful and energetic final level," according to Indycar officials.
The top step on the Road to Indy ladder will also move to Firestone tyres to bring the series closer to its parent championship.
“INDY NXT by Firestone will continue to develop and graduate new generations of racers ready to engage in breathtaking, high-stakes competition," said Indycar president Jay Frye.
"Firestone is the perfect partner in this endeavor, with its innovative technology and authentic appreciation for INDY NXT and its vast potential.”
Indycar took over management and operations of the series in 2022, with officials celebrating increased collaboration between the series in the year since.
The grid is set to expand in the new year, with officials predicting the biggest entry list since 2009.
The 2023 season will take place over 14 races, beginning on the streets of St. Petersburg on Sunday, March 5.
