Robb's best time of 1:59.9743 was more than two-tenths of a second faster than his rookie teammate.

“Pole position, that’s pretty exciting,” said Robb.

“We know Road America is a tough place to win from pole."

"A huge shoutout to the team for this one.”

Andretti Autosport locked out the front two rows of the grid, with Aussie Matthew Brabham on the second row in fourth.

Championship leader Linus Lundvist lead for most of the session but his streak of five consecutive pole positions came to an end when he went off-track in the final stage of the session, settling for sixth on the grid.

Importantly for Lundqvist, he starts ahead of teammate and closest challenger Benjamin Pedersen, who qualified seventh.
