Mourzouris is now 28 points ahead of second-placed Zac Soutar ahead of the season finale at Phillip Island.

"It's been a mega weekend, solid points collected for the weekend", said Mouzouris at the end of race three.

Cody Burcher and Soutar were second and third for the weekend, with Burcher claiming his maiden Australian Formula Ford win in Race 1 on Saturday.

"I couldn't really ask for a better weekend. We've come leaps and bounce from last year, and it's great to be running at the front consistently", said Burcher.

Burcher won from third on Saturday after Callum Hedge took pole position. Mouzouris led and won lights-to-flag in Races 2 and 3.

"Overall pretty happy. Nice to get a podium and we'll come back stronger at Phillip Island," said Soutar at the end of the weekend.

Lachlan Mineeff won the CHI Hard Charger Award after an off-track excursion in Race 1 saw him overtake more than 20 cars in his recovery throughout the weekend’s three races.

The Australian Formula Ford Championship heads to Phillip Island on September 28-29 to decide a winner, who wins a spot in the 2019 Mazda Road To Indy Shootout and a test day aboard a current spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car (Gen II).
