FIA concludes Anthoine Hubert crash investigation
The FIA has released the results of its investigation into the FIA Formula 2 crash at Spa-Francorchamps, which killed French driver Anthoine Hubert and injured American Juan Manuel Correa.
The investigation, conducted by the FIA Safety Department, peer-reviewed by the FIA Working Research Group, and approved by the FIA Safety Commission, found no fault on behalf of any of the drivers.
The investigation found that the Anthoine Hubert’s trauma was non-survivable, with the driver experiencing a peak force equivalent to 81.8g.
Yellow flags were deployed 1.8 seconds after the start of the incident, with double yellows deployed 2.5 seconds after the car-to-car contact between Hubert and Correa, followed by a red flag 2.7 seconds later.
The emergency response saw the first medical evaluation of Anthoine Hubert 54 seconds after the red flag, with Juan Manuel Correa evaluated 69 seconds after the flag.
