Felipe Drugovich to test for Aston Martin after Lance Stroll injured
Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich will drive for Aston Martin at the F1 pre-season test in Bahrain after Lance Stoll was injured.
Stroll was cycling in Spain as part of pre-season training when he was involved in a “minor accident”, according to the team.
"I've had an unfortunate accident whilst training on my bike in preparation for the season,” said Stroll.
“I am determined to get back in the car and I am excited about the season ahead with the team.”
“I am motivated to bounce back from this setback as quickly as possible."
An Aston Martin spokesperson said “his fitness to return to the cockpit will be assessed daily and the team will issue an update ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix.”
UPDATE: @FelipeDrugovich will attend the Bahrain test to share driving duties with Fernando Alonso. Felipe is scheduled to drive AMR23 on Thursday morning with Fernando taking over in the afternoon.
