Australian season for Perth driver Nicolas Stati after taste of F4 in Asia
Perth racer Nicols Stati will contest the relaunched Australian Formula 4 championship with AGI sport after a successful taste of the category in Asia.
Stati raced with AGI in the Formula 4 South East Asia and UAE series through summer, earning a win in the penultimate race of the SEA series in Sepang before taking on the best teams and drivers in the world in the UAE championship.
“I’m really excited to continue working with AGI Sport in the return of the Australian Formula 4 Championship this year,” said the 15-year-old.
“I started my car racing journey in the last two rounds of the Asian F4 late last year with AGI and after racing in the UAE F4 series earlier this year I’m looking forward to racing with the team in Australia.”
“Nico turned 15 last November so we were able to sneak in a few F4 races in Asia with him before Christmas,” said team principal Adam Gotch.
“We then took him to the Middle East where he competed in the toughest of all F4 series, the UAE F4 Championship.”
“Nicolas worked really well alongside our second year F4 driver Jack Beeton and will be aiming to put all of that hard work over the off season into his first car racing campaign in Australia this year.”
Stati is the second driver to be announced for the upcoming Australian season, which begins in May at the The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia.
